Rose De Gambrinus Raspberry
Rose De Gambrinus Raspberry

Rose De Gambrinus Raspberry

Cantillon

Fruit Lambic

Fresh raspberries are added to an intensely sour beer to give the pink
Champagne of the beer world. The lewd label fell foul of the US
authorities and had to be purified for import.

37.5cl - 5.0% - £5.25

Gueuze

Gueuze

Cantillon

Blend of Young & Aged Lambics

Aromas of horse blanket and horse piss are the tell-tale signs of a wild
yeast known as brettanomyaces. It also produces acetic acid in this
intensely sour, characterful museum-piece.

37.5cl - 6.0% - £5.25

Dupont Moinette Blonde

Dupont Moinette Blonde

West Hainaut, Antwerp
Blonde Ale/Super Saison

Moinette Blonde is an improved Saison dating from 1955, coppery blonde with fine hop aromas from East Kent & Styrian goldings.  A multi strain yeast and warm conditioning  and fermentation in bottle gives a well attenuated spicy complexity.

33cl - 8.5% - £4.45

Deus

Deus

Bosteels Brewery
Deus
Strong Belgian Ale

Sporting a Dom Pérignon look-alike bottle and matured in caves in Champagne, Deus is not short of ambition. A profound and complex beer that blurs the boundary.

75cl - 11.5% - £22.50

Duvel

Duvel

Moortgat Brewery, Breendonk, Antwerp
Duvel
Strong 'Blonde' Ale

The most famous blond from Belgium. Pale gold with a dense rocky head showing lots of mouth-tingling carbonation from a well-judged maturation in bottle. Saaz hops give a floral and citric blast on the
nose. A beautifully balanced beer with lots of complexity.

33cl - 8.5% - £4.00

Duchesse de Bourgogne

Duchesse de Bourgogne

Verhaeghe, Flanders
Duchesse de Bourgogne
Sour brown ale - Burgundy of Belgium

A traditional  'sour brown ale' aged in wood, imparting distinctively lactic sourness, giving hauntingly Pinot Noir like aromas and flavours. A fine accompanient to jugged hare or venison liver.

33cl - 6% - £4.45

Liefmans Cuvee-Brut

Liefmans Cuvee-Brut

Oudenaard, Flanders
Liefmans Cuvee-Brut
Sweet Cherry Fruit Beer

A great aperitif and equally good dessert or pudding beer with plenty of residual sweetness. Morello and sour schaerbeek cherries are added to a sour brown ale producing a delightfully sweet and sour beer.

We have three dog-friendly rooms

Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at The Anchor.  There are three Garden Chalets (rooms 11, 12 and 14) that are dog-friendly with direct access to the back garden. These have tiled floors with rugs for ease of cleaning.  We have a hose pipe under the large tree on the back lawn to wash down your dog after muddy walks.  When dining, dogs are permitted in the Bar and Family Room and our outdoor terraces (on a lead as not all our guests are keen on dogs).

Please note that we permit a maximum of two dogs per room.  Although we do charge £20.00 per dog per night, we reserve the right to apply a charge to cover any damage or special cleaning if required.  Age: Dogs should be house-trained and a minimum of one  year old. Bedding: Dogs are not permitted on our beds or furniture. We suggest that guests bring their dog's own bedding.  Dog-friendly beaches: Walberswick welcomes dogs all year round, whereas Southwold has restrictions in place during May to September.  Dog walks: We also recommend Darcy's Dog Walks as seen in Essential Suffolk magazine
