



Gourmet experiences from field to fork
Food Safari specialises in gourmet Field to Fork days that go one or two steps beyond a traditional cookery school.
We run events and workshops that take you behind the scenes of some of Suffolk's best food and drink producers in many cases combining farm walks and tours with hands-on butchery workshops and cookery demonstrations. Each day culminates in a gourmet feast at The Anchor, featuring the fruits of your day whether that's game, wild food or seafood.
On a Food Safari you will meet dedicated and inspiring producers like the Wild Meat Company (game), or Blythburgh Free Range Pork and even get your hands dirty skinning a rabbit, making sausages or filleting fish.
The Anchor plays a vital role in hosting these events running some of the cookery demonstrations and preparing the fabulous feasts.

Wild Meat in a Day, February 6, March 28
Fun, hands-on day preparing, cooking and eating a variety of feathered and furred game.
Beer Safari, February 19, June 11
With an expert guide we'll go on a journey to discover the ingredients that make great beer.
Catch & Cook, April 10, July 31
A full day of off-shore fishing concluded with a fish-skills session in The Anchor's kitche.
Wild Food in a Day, May 1, June 19
An introduction to foraging for spring wild foods wrapped up with a wild food feast.
Free Range Pig in a Day, May 8
Visit the famous Blythburgh pigs and learn how to make sausages for lunch.
