 Beer & Oyster Festival

Sat 5 & Sun 6th August

Noon until late

The Anchor will be buzzing with...

Live music Saturday with Jazzin' Around-Tony Parson's quartet of seasoned jazz musicians, all with experience working with BBC Symphony Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, BBC Big Band and more

Live music Sunday afternoon with Delta Beltas-music inspired by the street musicians and jugbands of America's Deep South in the 1920's & '30's.

BBQ with Blythburgh pork sausages, Anchor burgers with a home baked bun and sumptuous fresh salads

Wood-fired pizzas

West Mersea oysters shucked by Bram & Richard Howard from The Company Shed, Essex 12-4pm on both days. Last year they shucked over 1000 oysters on Saturday alone.

Saturday evening: special seafood BBQ/wood-fired oven offering half lobsters, razor clams, chilli squid, tandoori monkfish skewers, Szechuan prawns, mussels & more

Over 25 cask ales

  Breakfast/Bruch served 8:30-10:00am Open for food until 9pm and Bar open until 10pm

Pizza Night

Hand-crafted pizzas cooked in our wood-fired oven

Friday 18th August

From 6.15pm, £16.50 per person to include a choice of main dishes,  homemade bhajis, dhal, raita, naan & Sophie's hot chilli sauce

Family gathering without the clean up. Images of our Barn can be seen by clicking on 'Tailored Events'. We can accommodate up to 24 people for a sit down meal. We appreciate everyone has their own traditions. Work with Sophie to create a special menu.

 On May 3rd we welcomed Mitch Steel from Stone Brewing, San Diego along with Tim from Greenjack Brewery, the brewing boys from Adnams to meet James McCrorie who founded The Craft Brewing Association. They sampled an historic 1860 recipe IPA Edinburgh Ale and talked all things beer!
