The Anchor Walberswick
We love dogs!

Well behaved dogs are very welcome at The Anchor. We want dogs and their owners to enjoy their time with us however please could you be respectful of our premises and the furnishings in our accommodation. We have a hose pipe under the large tree on the back lawn to wash down your dog after muddy walks. We can also provide towels to dry them off.

Dogs are permitted in the bar area and on our outside terraces, please keep on a lead as not all of our guests are keen on dogs.

We have three dog-friendly Garden Chalets at an additional cost of £10.00 per dog per night by prior arrangement.

The Garden Chalets have their own direct outdoor access, are tiled with rugs and therefore easier to maintain and clean. The carpark is adjacent to the chalets for ease.

Please note that we permit a maximum of two dogs per room and although we do charge a nominal fee for dogs staying with us we reserve the right to apply a charge to cover any damage or special cleaning if required.

Age: Dogs should be house-trained and a minimum of 1 year old. Sorry, no puppies allowed.

Bedding: We suggest that guests bring their dog's own bedding as it will comfort the dog with familiar smells.

Food: We will gladly store wrapped dog food in our kitchen refrigerator or freezer.

One of Suffolk's most famous beaches, Southwold offers a fantastic holiday resort for the family. Although the main beaches of Southwold have pet restrictions in place during the summer months, Southwold Benes, just north of the main beach, is dog-friendly throughout the year. Simply follow the A1095 from Southwold to the Denes.

Also the stunning sandy beach to the South of Southwold, down towards Walberswick, is pet friendly and welcomes dogs all year round. - See more at: http://www.suffolktouristguide.com/Dog-Friendly-Beaches-in-Suffolk.asp#sthash.x8eemAOH.dpuf

Dog-friendly beaches: Walberswick welcomes dogs all year round, where as Southwold has restrictions in place during the summer. Though the north-side of the beach (the harbour-side closest to Walberswick) is dog-friendly throughout the year.

Dog walks: We also recommend Darcy's Dog Walks as seen in Essential Suffolk magazine each month. To find out more please click here.
